Terms of Use

Last Updated: 2026-07-10  •  Effective when published

Not medical advice — Not a medical device CritiDose does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not a medical device and is not approved or regulated as one. Always follow the instructions of your doctor, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare professional. For medical emergencies, contact your local emergency services immediately.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the CritiDose application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.

2. Description of CritiDose

CritiDose is a medication reminder and routine tracking tool designed to help you manage your personal medication schedule. The app provides local reminders, dose logging, stock tracking, and optional high-priority alarm functionality (Critical Alert Mode). CritiDose is not a medical device, health monitoring system, or emergency service.

3. Not Medical Advice — Not a Medical Device

CritiDose does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

CritiDose is a reminder and tracking tool. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. CritiDose is not a medical device and is not approved or regulated as one by any regulatory authority.

Always seek the advice of your physician, pharmacist, or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or medication usage. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read or tracked in CritiDose.

For medical emergencies, contact your local emergency services immediately (such as 112, 911, or the equivalent in your country). CritiDose is not an emergency service and cannot contact emergency services on your behalf.

4. User Responsibility

  • Follow professional instructions. You are solely responsible for taking the correct medication at the correct dose and time as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Verify medicine details. You are responsible for verifying all medication details — including names, dosages, and instructions — entered into CritiDose.
  • Do not rely solely on CritiDose. CritiDose is a supplementary aid. Do not rely on it as your only safety mechanism for medication management.

5. Reminder Reliability Limitation

CritiDose strives to deliver timely, accurate reminders. However, we cannot guarantee that reminders will always fire exactly as scheduled. Reminders may be delayed, missed, or blocked due to factors outside of CritiDose's control, including but not limited to:

  • Battery optimization settings on your device
  • Notification permission revocation
  • Exact alarm permission revocation (Android 12+)
  • Do Not Disturb or Focus modes
  • Operating system or manufacturer background restrictions (common on Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, and Oppo devices)
  • Device restarts before alarms are rescheduled

CritiDose's Reminder Reliability screen (found in the Care tab) helps you configure your device for the best possible alarm delivery. Because reminder delivery cannot be guaranteed, you must not rely on CritiDose as your sole medication management safety mechanism.

6. Local-First Data and Deletion

CritiDose is a local-first application and stores your data locally on your device by default. If you do not use cloud backup, deleting the CritiDose app or clearing its app data will result in the permanent deletion of your routines, reminders, and dose history. We are not responsible for any lost data.

Optional cloud backup and restore features are available. Users are responsible for selecting the correct backup before restore. Restore operations can modify local app data after confirmation. CritiDose is not a medical device and does not replace professional medical advice.

For instructions on removing app and cloud data, see the Account Deletion page.

7. Optional Account and Cloud Backup

Use CritiDose locally without an account. Basic medication reminders are fully functional without an account.

Optional cloud backup and restore requires a signed-in account and a verified email. Pro cloud backup/restore may require an active Pro entitlement once Pro enforcement is enabled. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

8. Critical Alert Mode

CritiDose includes an optional Critical Alert Mode that uses a full-screen alarm to alert you of high-priority medication reminders. Critical Alert Mode is a user-enabled medication reminder and alarm feature — it is not emergency medical monitoring and cannot contact emergency services.

This feature:

  • Is off by default for all medication routines
  • Must be explicitly enabled per routine by the user
  • Requires the USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT permission to function
  • Sounds an alarm and activates the device screen when enabled, which may be disruptive to others nearby
  • May be affected by device battery optimization, permissions, Do Not Disturb, or OEM restrictions as described in Section 5

You are responsible for ensuring that Critical Alert Mode is appropriate for your environment and circumstances.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use CritiDose for any unlawful purpose or in any way that might harm, disrupt, or impair the functionality of the app.

10. Future Optional Features

CritiDose may introduce the following optional features in future versions:

  • Paid Pro subscription — optional paid features such as unlimited medicines, full history export, and advanced refill planning. Purchases and billing are managed via Google Play.
  • Multi-device sync — medication data may be optionally synced via a personal cloud account.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CritiDose and its developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the app, including but not limited to:

  • Missed medications or delayed reminders due to device settings, permissions, or OEM restrictions
  • Inaccurate data entry
  • Data loss due to device failure, uninstallation, or factory reset
  • Reliance on CritiDose as a sole medication management tool
  • Harm resulting from not following healthcare professional instructions

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

CritiDose is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms of Use at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes — especially for changes related to account creation, cloud features, or billing — before those versions are released. Your continued use of CritiDose after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Use.

14. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
